Data Acquisition System

The Osprey DAQ-32-250-24 is a highly scalable data acquisition system designed for facility-wide synchronous sampling. By utilizing a GPS receiver and fiber timing network, the system synchronizes all distributed nodes to provide time-stamped data for configurations scaling up to 1,024 signals at 250 kHz. The infrastructure supports event-based and on-demand acquisition, and high-speed machine protection. At the node level, each 2U rack-mount chassis provides 32-channels of 24-bit resolution analog digitization. Serving as a high-density I/O front end, the chassis integrates seamlessly into the broader timing network to ensure reliable, precision data collection across the entire facility.

Event Generator

The Osprey EVG-2-16-4 is a timing source in a distributed timing, data and trigger system. Each chassis has 2 clock domain inputs, 16 TTL-compatible digital inputs, 4 LVTTL digital outputs, and 6 timing fanout lines packaged as a 2U 19 inch rack mount chassis.

Event Timing | Machine Protection

The Osprey EVT-8-8 is a node for distributed timing and trigger systems, configurable as a combined Event Receiver, Machine Protection, and Fast Orbit Feedback endpoint. Each 2U 19-inch rack-mount chassis has 8 TTL inputs, 8 LVTTL digital outputs, and 8 fiber distribution links. As a hardware endpoint, the EVT-8-8 provides synchronized and time-stamped events, triggers, and machine data to local devices. Its transceivers support point-to-point communication for Fast Orbit Feedback and Machine Protection. Full EPICS integration enables real-time system diagnostics and configuration oversight to ensure reliable operation.
